dotheshit app locker · Android 8.0 and newer · iPhone on iOS 16 and later
You pick the apps. You pick the time. You hold the bar for three seconds. Then the apps you picked put up a wall until the time you picked runs out. There is no stop button, because you asked for there to be no stop button.
Copy the app file onto your phone and tap it. Android asks for permission to install from this source, which it does for every app that does not come from the Play Store. Then the app walks you through the permissions in plain words and tells you when you are ready. It takes about two minutes.
You cannot, and that is the product. The lock ends by itself at the time you chose. If you genuinely must end it, delete the app, and put it back afterwards.
No. Nothing is removed. The apps are hidden behind a wall and come back exactly as they were.
Nothing. On Android it never requests internet permission, so the system will not let it send anything anywhere. On iOS, Apple hands it anonymous tokens rather than app names, so it cannot see which apps you chose or anything inside them. Full detail on the privacy page.
That is how it knows which app you just opened, and it is the only way to draw the wall. It is an invasive permission, which is exactly why the complete source code ships with the app. Read it before you trust it.
On iOS, open Settings, then Screen Time, and turn it on. Then open dotheshit and tap CHOOSE again. iOS asks once and remembers. On Android, open the app and follow the setup line, which names each permission and links straight to it.
Wait it out or delete the app. Next time, lock less. The app is deliberately bad at negotiating.
Not yet. It is built and waiting on Apple.
Write, and say which phone and which version of Android or iOS. It gets read by the person who built it.
